EMDR therapy is a trauma-processing approach that helps your mind and body release the weight and impact of trauma.
Think of your system like a house that lived through storms. The walls still stand, but certain rooms hold old echoes, old smells, old fears, and memories that never had a safe place to go.
Some rooms hold images you avoid looking at. Some hold beliefs about yourself that were planted before you had words.
Some hold patterns you keep repeating without meaning to. Some hold a younger you who never felt chosen or protected.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help your brain walk back into those rooms with support, light, and clarity so you can finally clear out what you never had the chance to sort through.
Many people imagine EMDR is only for the “big” traumas. In reality, it reaches into the quieter cuts too. The childhood moment when you felt invisible. The breakup that shifted something in your chest. The teacher who embarrassed you in front of the class.
The "tiny" events that shaped how you see yourself.
EMDR helps you live in the present without the impact and residue of the past.
